President Radev condemns Russian aggression in Ukraine at UN General Assembly

War, conflict and terror are challenges for the future of our civilization. This was stated by Bulgaria's President Rumen Radev in his speech before the UN General Assembly in New York

"Today we live in a world of increasing risk and uncertainty. The picture is completed by the systematic erosion of democracy and human rights and the rise of authoritarianism. The consensus that humanity can live according to the rules of the internationally accepted world order has been grossly violated," Radev said.

The president called the aggression against Ukraine "a war by a permanent member of the UN Security Council against a neighbouring country, violating the principles of the UN Charter and international law".

Radev expressed concern about the spread of the war throughout the Black Sea region and called on the UN to find a solution to the conflict through negotiations.
