Varna, Burgas and Plovdiv are the cities with the largest number of Ukrainian refugees, survey shows

70% of all Ukrainian refugees residing in Bulgaria are women. 28% of are under the age of 14. 70% have higher education. 

The number of accompanied children is between 48 and 55 thousand, while the number of unaccompanied children is around 500. This is according to a sociological survey presented today showing the profile of third-country nationals who were granted temporary protection in Bulgaria, BNR reporter Svetoslava Kuzmanova reports. 

The largest number of refugees is in Varna, Burgas, Plovdiv, Sofia, Blagoevgrad, Stara Zagora and Ruse - between 1,000 and several thousand people. In northwestern Bulgaria - Vidin, Vratsa and Montana, the number of Ukrainian refugees under temporary protection is between 30 and 70 for each of the three districts. According to the State Agency for Refugees, around 168,000 Ukrainian refugees have received protection since August.
