The Ministry of Finance will grant 63 million euros (32.2 million euros) in aid to farmers after the ban on Ukrainian grain imports was lifted, the ministry's press service said. The funds are due to be voted by the government next week.

Additional support for food producers in the second half of the year was promised at a meeting of livestock farmers with Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov and Finance Minister Assen Vassilev in July, and 213m levs were subsequently allocated in the state budget.

At the meeting, some of the breeders opposed the extension of the ban on grain imports from Ukraine, arguing that it makes fodder more expensive and therefore food prices soar and increases inflation.
