President Rumen Radev issued a decree dismissing Chief Commissioner Petar Todorov from the post of Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior. He also signed another decree appointing Chief Commissioner Zhivko Kotsev to the vacant post, the press service of the institution said.

Rumen Radev initially refused to remove Todorov, as the government demanded. The cabinet's decision was made on the grounds of poor organisation in the work of the Interior Ministry.
