The wildfire in the vicinity of Kazanluk and Muglizh has been restricted within the bounds of the territory engulfed by fire yesterday.

At this time there is no fire, only smoke. Stara Zagora’s regional governor Iva Radeva told the BNR she hoped the situation on site would remain calm during daylight hours. The situation will be evaluated in the afternoon, and the lifting of the partial state of alert discussed. The cause of the fire has not been established yet, though human negligence is the most probable cause, she said, and added that temperatures are currently very high, and, according to weather forecasts, will remain high during the next 10 days and there will be strong winds. Iva Radeva went on to warn the public not to throw cigarette stubs outside because even the slightest spark can cause a major fire.
