Nurgyul Salimova places second in Women's Chess World Cup final

Bulgarian Nurgyul Salimova lost the second tiebreak against Russian Aleksandra Goryachkina in the Women's Chess World Cup final in Baku. The 20-year-old Bulgarian remained second in the tournament, as this has been her biggest success so far.

Salimova reached the final after three grueling weeks in Baku, in which she achieved six victories. Qualifying for the final has earned her a place in the 2024 Candidates Tournament in Toronto.
