A study on the development of the hydrogen market in Bulgaria begins

Photo: Archive

According to the European Commission's REPowerEU plan for decarbonization, the state-owned company Bulgartransgaz is starting a non-binding market study to search for hydrogen transmission capacity. The company informs all current and potential market participants - producers, traders and consumers about the opportunity to submit their forecasts for the demand for hydrogen transfer capacity.

The study will facilitate the timely planning of the necessary infrastructure.

Bulgartransgaz plans to build an infrastructure for the transfer of pure hydrogen and to adapt the existing gas infrastructure for the transfer of hydrogen-gas mixtures containing up to 10% hydrogen. The company is also an active participant in the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance and the European Hydrogen Backbone initiatives.
