The architectural and historical reserve Old Plovdiv now has brand new lighting – garland lights under the eaves of its Revival-time houses. The new street lighting is a donation by businessmen who say they hope it will be an eye-catching addition to the town by night.
“It is so beautiful, like a fairytale,” passersby say. Beautification is one of the goals of the local authorities whose ambition it is to make Plovdiv a more attractive and safer place for the people living in the city and for tourists. One more private investment in the architectural complex is expected by the end of the month to provide lighting for the approach to the reserve.
