Sixteen passengers, among them women and children, spent the night at Stara Zagora railway station. They left Ruse for Burgas with a stop at Stara Zagora. However, the train from Sofia to Burgas did not wait for them. The late train from Ruse arrived just minutes after the departure of the train for Burgas. "The attitude of the BDZ employees at the station was very bad towards us. They provided us with 2 rooms with 3 beds each, which were in awful condition", says one of the passengers.

During the day of August 13, Minister of Transport Georgi Gvozdeikov announced that he was changing the management of "Holding Bulgarian State Railways" (BDZ), the ministry's press center reported.
