NSI: Median salary in the second quarter is 1000 EUR

1 957 BGN (1001 EUR) is the median salary in the second quarter of the year - by 4% more compared to January-March and by 13% more compared to the same period last year, according to the National Statistical Institute. 

The largest increase in earnings was recorded in the construction sector - 8.5%, hotels and restaurants - 8.3%, and production and distribution of electricity, heat and gaseous fuels - 7.5%. 

The highest wages in the second quarter of 2023 were received by employees in the creation and distribution of information and creative products and telecommunications - BGN 4,732 (EUR 2,420), while the lowest paid were those in Hotels and restaurants with BGN 1,189 (EUR 608)
