The introduction of the euro will not seriously raise prices, experts assure

The introduction of the euro will not lead to serious overall inflationary effects. This is the conclusion of an analysis of the effects of joining the eurozone by a team of leading economists and financiers from the Council for Economic Analysis. According to them, "Bulgaria's accession to the Eurozone would not represent a serious change for the Bulgarian economy", BNR reported.

The research is based on the practical experience of countries that have already adopted the euro. It is recommended that a serious campaign be carried out among the population and that "it is important for Bulgaria to implement the policies used by other Eastern European countries to adapt society to the new currency".

Analysts warn that a slight one-off price increase is possible at first, especially in services.
