A project for studying Bulgarian language abroad wins European funding

A project for studying the Bulgarian language abroad under the Erasmus+ program has won funding in the amount of 250,000 euros, Prof. Galya Hristozova, project manager, announced on social networks. 

The initiative is of the Burgas Free University in partnership with five Bulgarian schools abroad. The goal of the project "Digital transformation in education in Bulgarian Language and Literature (UchaBEL-4.0)" is, through digital transformation and the use of the possibilities of digital technologies, to support the learning of the Bulgarian language for students who live and study in a foreign language environment and are familiar or not familiar with the basics in the Bulgarian language.

The partner schools abroad are:

• Cultural Association "Parallel 43", Rome, Italy;
• Bulgarian native language school, Budapest, Hungary;
• Bulgarian School "St. St. Cyril and Methodius", The Hague, Netherlands;
• Bulgarian Sunday School "Az Buki Vedi", Cologne, Germany;
• Bulgarian School "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" at the Heritage Languages & Cultures Foundation, Nicosia, Cyprus
