Bulgaria's state budget has been harmed by BGN 10 billion (EUR 5 billion) in uncollected taxes and revenues written off by the National Revenue Agency (NRA) due to the expiry of the statute of limitations. Tsvetan Tsvetkov, who was restored by the Constitutional Court as chairman of the Court of Auditors, said in response to the acting Chairman Goritsa Grancharova-Kozhareva, who a week ago announced delayed audit reports worth BGN 1 billion.

Tsvetan Tsvetkov criticized the National Assembly for discussing only the adoption of the state budget, but not its implementation and reporting. "In eight years, the parliament has not once considered the opinions of the Court of Auditors on the implementation of the state budget, nor has it adopted the implementation report by its own decision," he added.
