On the occasion of the day of the Bulgarian diplomatic service on July 19, Bulgaria's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel presented the priorities of Bulgarian diplomacy in Sofia. Among them, she pointed to Bulgaria's active membership in the EU and NATO, stressing that membership in Schengen, the Eurozone and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) are at the top of the national foreign policy agenda.

"The foreign policy implemented by Bulgaria is the result of a nationally coordinated effort, for which the principle 'Unity makes strength' fully applies," said Gabriel.

The Speaker of the Bulgarian Parliament, Rosen Zhelyazkov, stated that the role of Bulgarian diplomacy is to assist in the peaceful settlement of conflicts and to defend the national positions in international relations.
