According to the Russian news agency RIA Novosti, after the accident the radiation levels in the facility and in the town’s environs are normal. Bulgaria’s national automated system for permanent control of the radiation gamma background has not registered any deviations on the territory of Bulgaria so far. The Executive Environment Agency has 26 automated monitoring stations located across the entire territory of the country. The automated system is part of the European radiological data exchange platform, where data is submitted at hourly intervals.
