In Vilnius, where the NATO summit is being held, Bulgaria and Romania signed a letter of intent to establish a regional Special Operations Command to strengthen the Alliance's deterrence and defence capabilities.

"The most important decision in Vilnius regarding Ukraine was that of the so-called NATO-Ukraine Council, "which puts the president of Ukraine at the table along with the other heads of state." This allows the Ukrainian president to be on equal footing with the others when discussing common issues, including convening a NATO meeting if necessary, Denkov explained at a media briefing.

Speaking at the NATO summit in Lithuania, Defense Minister Todor Tagarev stressed the importance of the Alliance's new regional plans. He stated that they are a key driving force for further improving deterrence and defence readiness of allies and reaffirmed Bulgaria's commitment to this process.
