The project for the reconstruction of the stadium of the Professional Football Club CSKA "Bulgarian Army" was given the green light by the Committee on Environmental Protection, Agriculture and Forestry of the Sofia Municipal Council after a vote with 9 votes in favour and 3 abstentions.

The Municipal Council authorised the felling of 75 trees in the capital's Borisova Garden, where the stadium is located, and the reforestation of 298 saplings. The stadium reconstruction project is worth BGN 90 million (EUR 46 million). The stadium is to accommodate 16 thousand people, the newspaper Dnevnik reports. However, the renovation requires the approval of two ministries - of culture and of environment and water.
