1 in 5 Bulgarians believe AI should be banned: survey

According to 45% of Bulgarians, AI will lead to job loss, and 37% say it could substitute humans in their field, a survey conducted by Trend and commissioned by 24 Chasa newspaper shows. Almost one-fifth (19%) of the respondents believe AI should be banned because it poses a danger to humans.  

65% of the respondents say that the know what AI is. The young are more positively disposed to the use of AI, with negative answers prevailing in the higher age-brackets. Overall, 4 in 10 respondents have a negative attitude to its application.

The use of AI is most acceptable to society in call centres and spheres like the technological sector, reservations are highest with regard to its application in medicine and self-driving vehicles.
