A huge 5x6 m painting depicting the dream unity between North Macedonia and Bulgaria was painted by 30 young artists from both sides of the border. The event took place in front of the Ivan Vazov National Theatre as part of a campaign of Bulgarian Memory Foundation entitled "On Both Sides of the Border". The young people from North Macedonia are part of the Sts Cyril and Methodius Art Studio in Bitola. The young Bulgarians are from the Western Rhodopes.
Later, the children were received by Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, with whom they had an informal meeting. " It is in Bulgaria's best interest to see North Macedonia open EU membership negotiations as soon as possible. But we also want all people to be equal, to have equal rights (I am talking about North Macedonia), regardless of whether they feel Macedonians, Bulgarians, Albanians, etc", President Radev noted.
