Employees of the Ministry of Interior are ready to strike over low salaries

The trade union federation of employees in the Ministry of the Interior has announced readiness for protests and has called for a minimum of 10 percent rise in basic salaries to be set in the draft state budget for the current year.

The trade union calls on its members to hold protest actions on July 4 and 6 this year, without interrupting their official duties. "The proposed budget does not seek to motivate the employees of the Ministry of the Interior, who are the only ones involved in dealing with the ongoing severe migrant crisis and in ensuring the public order during elections," the union said.

The national union of firefighters and rescuers "Ogneborets" is also calling for a wage rise, but by at least 15%.
