GERB will have its candidacy for European Commissioner, said Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel after a visit to Brussels. She explained that GERB should discuss the issue by the end of the week.

"It is not important whether the next Bulgarian European Commissioner will be a man or a woman, but that he or she should be a strong person", Gabriel emphasized and added that the final decision on the promotion of the two candidacies should be taken by the government.

Daniel Laurer will be the candidate for the Bulgarian European Commissioner of "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" (PP-DB), the co-chairman of the coalition Kiril Petkov announced to bTV. He pointed out that there will be two candidates for the European Commissioner from the Bulgarian side - a man and a woman, but The European Commission will decide which of the two will take over the post.
