Bulgaria earned its first point in the Euro 2024 qualifiers playing away in Lithuania. The match on the rain-soaked pitch in Kaunas ended 1:1.

Moreover, Lithuania, which is considered an outsider in the group, played 70 minutes with a man less. Gvidas Gineitis (Lithuania) opened the scoring a quarter of an hour after the game started. Two minutes later Justas Lasickas (Lithuania) was shown the red card for a foul on Kiril Despodov. Marin Petkov levelled the score in the 27th minute.

By the end of the game the visiting team missed numerous opportunities to take the lead. In the standings, Bulgaria's National team, coached by Serbian Mladen Krstajić, ranked fourth to last in the group ahead of Lithuania with one point. On 20 June, Bulgaria hosts favourites Serbia in Razgrad.
