The Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) expects, in the new budget for 2023, an increase in the pay of all those working in the budget sphere, which will compensate for the inflation in Bulgaria. According to the vice-president of CITUB Todor Kapitanov, workers have given a warning of protest actions if the demands are not fulfilled.

Everything will be decided by what state budget for 2023 will be proposed, Kapitanov also pointed out.

The Culture Federation with Podkrepa Trade Union has also warned that cultural events in the country will stop for a week. "When performances are canceled and tickets have been purchased, there will be discontent directed at the rulers, who regularly justify the low budget for culture with the change of governments", Kiril Binev, chairman of the federation, commented for Radio Bulgaria.
