Screenwriters, authors of content for cinema, radio and television protested in front of the National Assembly in Sofia. They are calling for collective agreements and fair remuneration. They also insist on the rapid adoption of changes in the Copyright and Related Rights Act, in order to transfer the European directives into the Bulgarian practice.

According to the Bulgarian Association of the Film, Theater and Radio Scriptwriters, the changes come late and private Bulgarian media do not pay for repetitions when broadcasting author's content.

June 14 has been declared Global Day of Solidarity in support of U.S. screenwriters, who have been on a strike for more than 40 days against studios and platforms with demands for fair contracts and remuneration.
