Tsarevets fortress in Veliko Tarnovo was transformed into a stage for medieval events, as part of the International Festival of Historical Reenactments “Medieval Tarnovgrad” from 8 to 11 June.
The programme includes 170 different events presenting the life, military skills and arts of the Middle Ages, as well as concerts, theatrical performances, a fashion show and demonstrations. The motto this year is “The village king – the ascension”, and is dedicated to Ivaylo, ruler of Medieval Bulgaria.
