"The Constitution does not envisage someone advising the National Assembly whether to elect a government or not", Premier-designate of “We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria” (PP-DB) Nikolay Denkov said at a briefing after receiving the second cabinet-forming mandate.

His comment came in response to President Radev's statement that after the leak of the recordings discrediting Bulgaria's national sovereignty, it was appropriate for the second mandate to remain unfulfilled. "There is no treason, these are interpretations that are far from the truth", Nikolay Denkov said. It became clear during the briefing that the negotiations between GERB-SDS and PP-DB have not yet resumed. Academician Denkov expressed hope that the negotiations on forming a government will continue.
