Congress of Balkan Military Medical Committee begins in Sofia

Sofia is hosting the 25th jubilee congress of the Balkan Military Medical Committee.

The forum is taking place May 28-31 after a 4-year pause due to the Covid-19 pandemic. More than 200 delegates from the 6 member countries are taking part – Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Serbia and Turkey. Honorary president of the congress is the head of the Military Medical Academy Major-General Prof. Ventsislav Mutafchiyski.  

The congress will discuss scientific achievements in military medicine, disaster medicine, emergency surgery, orthopedics, infectious diseases, psychiatry, psychology and clinical trials, with a focus on effective interaction between military and civilian healthcare in crisis situations.
