MPs call for hearing of Prosecutor General and his deputies in parliament

On Tuesday, Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev will submit a request to the Supreme Judicial Council for dismissal of his deputy Borislav Sarafov. Council chair Boyan Magdalinchev told BNT that Geshev received the proposal for his early release submitted by six parliamentary elected members of the council. There is a 7-day period in which the chief prosecutor can make objections and provide evidence.

The job of the prosecutor's office is not about talking to media and labeling MPs, but leading investigations and raising charges, says a message of the "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" coalition regarding the scandals in the prosecutor's office. They called on Geshev and his deputies Borislav Sarafov and Yasen Todorov to appear for a hearing in parliament.
