The draft state budget for the year will, most probably, not be discussed in parliament next week. The draft with a deficit of 6.4% of the GDP which was submitted by the caretaker cabinet was supposed to have been discussed by the parliamentary budget committee in first reading in mid-May, but encountered major criticism on the part of all parliamentary groups.

GRB/SDS which will be handed the first exploratory mandate for the formation of a government on Monday, is insisting that the budget be submitted by a regular cabinet. On their part, the second biggest political force in parliament We Continue the Change/Democratic Bulgaria say the budget is more important than a cabinet.
