Ivan Geshev's Deputy asks why the Prosecutor General has been silent for a week

"It is not my fault and I do not want to be responsible for other people's actions; in this sense what I said that the family of Mr. Ivan Geshev was in the car with him during the explosion was provoked precisely because he himself left such an impression on me in a telephone conversation", the head of the National Security Service and deputy chief prosecutor, Borislav Sarafov, told BTA.

He adds that if Geshev had wanted to make a clarification and correct his mistake, he could have done it the same day to avoid manipulations on the topic. "Why the chief prosecutor remained silent for a whole week, instead of giving the explanations due to the Bulgarian society and avoiding the discussion, is a question to which I have no answer", continues Sarafov, clarifying that he is not to blame and does not want to bear responsibility. "I want to clearly express that both I and the majority of my colleagues believe that the prosecutor's office should leave the political terrain, and return to its natural environment - in defense of justice within the framework of the institutional powers", Borislav Sarafov writes in his position.
