After a three-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, when May 6, the Day of Courage and the day of the Bulgarian Army, was celebrated with demonstrations in line with anti-epidemic measures, this year the military parade will take place.

On May 6, immediately after the festive liturgy, a solemn water blessing ceremony of the battle flags will start, followed by a military parade at Prince Alexander Battenberg Square in central Sofia headed by the commander of the Ground Forces Major General Deyan Deshkov.

At the beginning of the parade, the holy flags of the Bulgarian Army will pass, followed by the Guards Representative Brass Band, as well as those of the armed forces.

Citizens on the square will be able to see combat and special equipment of the Ground Forces - "Commando Select" and "Guardian" vehicles, armored personnel carriers, 152-mm howitzers D 20, reactive systems for salvo fire "Grad", 2S-1 self-propelled howitzer, BMP-1 and BMP-23 infantry fighting vehicles, T-72 tanks, Tochka and Osa missile complexes.

The Air Force will be represented by machines from the S-125 and S-200 missile systems, as well as a S-300 launcher. ‎

Citizens will also see armored vehicles of the Joint Forces Command, as well as Sand Cat armoured vehicles. A tractor trailer with a trailer semi-trailer loaded with MTLB of the Logistics Support Command will also move in the column.

A Mi-17 helicopter carrying the national flag will fly over the square, as well as Mi-24B and Cougar helicopters, L-410, Spartan, L-39Z, Pilatus, Su-25 aircraft, as well as three MiG-29 fighters.

On the part of the Naval Forces, a Panther helicopter will take part in the military parade.
