The agriculture ministries of Bulgaria and Ukraine are beginning work on drafting joint mechanisms of action in the event of market disruptions, including abrupt changes in the prices of sunflower oil.  Agreement on this was reached in Sofia by Bulgaria’s Agriculture Minister Yavor Gechev and the Agriculture Minister of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi. The two discussed the European Commission’s exceptional and temporary preventive measures on imports of 4 agricultural products from Ukraine.

“Bulgaria and Ukraine can work towards finding lasting solutions for the accelerated transit of agricultural products towards third countries and present them to the European Commission,” said Minister Gechev and added that a logistics system was being developed so that the solidarity lanes can start functioning the way they were planned.
