Members of Parliament adopt the rules of organization and procedure of the National Assembly

Following a three-day discussion, Members of Parliament adopted the rules of organization and procedure of the National Assembly.  The MPs approved the proposal by Vazrazhdane party which envisages that an additional monthly remuneration for professional experience amounting to one percent for each year of service be added to their basic salaries. 

The prime minister, deputy prime minister and ministers may only postpone an oral reply to a question or query due to illness or a business trip abroad, or in cases of urgency, but not more than two times. The idea to introduce a fine for persons and bodies who do not answer questions and inquiries by MPs or do not attend hearings was rejected.

The vote on the standing committees’ lineup was left for next week, as the parliamentary groups have not yet reached an agreement.
