Bulgaria and Greece are conducting a joint air force exercise

Greek F-16 aircraft will fly in the week of April 24 to 30 over Bulgaria as part of the joint flight exercise "Thracian Star". Medium-altitude fighter air combat, defensive and offensive air operations, tactical interception, visual aerial reconnaissance, multi-altitude route flying, close air support, search and strike of land and sea targets will be practiced. 

The Greek F-16s will perform flights without landing at a Bulgarian airport, the Ministry of Defense specifies. 

The "Thracian Star" exercise has been taking place since 2010, but now it is also in the context of the war in Ukraine, the Ministry of Defence announced. Therefore, one of the goals is to achieve higher interoperability in NATO operations.
