Ukrainian army has reached eastern bank of the Dnieper, ISW reports

Photo: Ukrainian Armed Forces

The Ukrainian armed forces have managed to establish positions on the eastern bank of the Dnieper River in the Kherson region. This is what geolocated footage, published on April 22 by Russian military bloggers, shows, the US-based Institute for the Study of War reported.

According to the photos, the Ukrainian forces established positions north of the village of Oleshky (7km southwest of Kherson City) and west of Dachi. The footage also shows that Russian forces may not control islands in the Kinka and Chaika rivers north of the important Antonivsky Bridge.

Meanwhile, military personnel from Belarus have returned from training in Russia for operating the Iskander ballistic missile, which can carry a nuclear warhead, Reuters reported, quoting the Ministry of Defense in Minsk. Russia has not announced a clear timetable for the transfer of tactical nuclear weapons to Belarus, but Vladimir Putin said the construction of silos to store them should be completed by early July.
