Without a regular government, GERB will not support the 2023 budget

The only thing that the new National Assembly should do is form a regular government, said Boyko Borisov, leader of the GERB party that won the parliamentary elections on April 2. He believes that whatever the cost to the parties, new elections would be a risk to parliamentary democracy.

"During a campaign, dividing lines are drawn, but in the democratic world, if one party does not have a majority, a coalition is formed. The natural partners of GERB are the parties that support Ukraine, the entry into Schengen and the Eurozone. The most stable government that will calm businesses and the people is a coalition between the major parties. All policy talks go through a regular government," explained Borisov.

He was adamant that GERB would not support a national budget for 2023 without a regular government.
