The National Natural History Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in Sofia celebrates today the International Bird Day - April 1, together with the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds.

The scientists and conservationists have prepared a special game "City birds in the museum" for the visitors of the museum - they will have to discover in the exposition 31 species of birds inhabiting the parks and green spaces in Sofia, BTA reported.

The bird kingdom is located in two of the halls of the museum, according to the scientific institution.

312 species of birds can be found in Sofia, which is more than half of the total of 420 species found in Bulgaria, the museum researchers explain.
