Belogradchik cliffs – a wonder of nature and a destination tourists love

Being one of the most bizarre, yet beautiful landmarks in Bulgaria but also in the world, the cliffs of Belogradchik attract numerous tourists, especially in summer when an opera festival is organized there. In 2009 they were nominated in the competition for the 7 new natural wonders of the world and ranked among the 77 finalists out of a total of almost 260 natural sites.

The Belogradchik cliffs were declared a natural landmark in 1949, and are on the 100 national tourist sites list.
