EC: Duties on Ukrainian grain products can be reintroduced

The EU may reintroduce duties on imports of certain Ukrainian grain products. This is what spokesperson of the European Commission, Miriam Garcia Ferrer, told BNR.

This provides for a safeguard clause that will be introduced in the current regulation on the import of grain from Ukraine. Its term expires in June, but it will be extended for a year and then the clause will be introduced.

Duties will be refunded only in cases where the import affects the entire European market. The impact on regional markets will not be taken into account, she pointed out.
