The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has indicated the strengthening of the Bulgarian-Turkish border as a priority in operational measures against illegal migration. After the end of the first day of the meeting of the European leaders, she recalled that, at the request of the European Council, she prepared a letter in which she presented the actions of the Commission on the Pact on Migration and Asylum, BNR correspondent in Brussels Angelina Piskova reports.

"In terms of operational measures, the focus was and remains above all on the work to strengthen the Bulgarian-Turkish border, the initiation of two pilot projects for border management - how do we deal with migrants arriving at the border not only in Bulgaria, but also in Romania, as well as to show the best practices in this administration for fast-track asylum or return procedures," she added.

We help European farmers who have to deal with the market consequences of the export of Ukrainian grain and its supply to the European market, von der Leyen added. "The most affected countries should not suffer from the opening of "green corridors" for the export of grain from Ukraine. At first, we secured over 56 million euros, but this is not enough, and I welcome Romania's proposal to increase the amount," explained von der Leyen.
