Rumen Radev: Schengen is a shared priority objective for Bulgaria and Romania

“We share a common responsibility for peace in the region. Schengen is a shared priority objective for the two countries,” President Rumen Radev said after meeting with his Romanian counterpart Klaus Iohannis who is visiting Bulgaria at the invitation of Bulgaria’s head of state. “We shall consolidate our efforts to remove our barrier to Schengen, towards our speedier collective accession,” President Radev said.

ThePresidents of Bulgaria and Romania condemned the Russian aggression in Ukraine and reaffirmed the support and solidarity of the two countries with Ukraine's struggle for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Rumen Radev and Klaus Iohannis signed a political declaration on raising bilateral cooperation to the level of strategic partnership.
