The Bulgarian mountaineer Gospodin Dinev has left for Kathmandu on an expedition to climb 3 eight-thousanders in the Himalayas. He expects the expedition to end in May.

Dinev, who is 64 years old, will try to climb the peaks of Annapurna - 8,091 m, Dhaulagiri - 8,167 and Makalu - 8,485. He will not use oxygen devices during the ascent.

"The mountain is cruel and we all have to be aware of that, the most important thing is to be sensible. I have experience and I am more cautious and moderate," Dinev said.

Gospodin Dinev has been mountaineering since 1976 and was on Annapurna in 1989 with a national expedition of Bulgaria when his friend Milen Medkov died.

Dinev has climbed the eight-thousanders Gasherbrum II and Broad Peak in the Karakorum.
