Sofia has joined the initiative of the Embassy of France in Bulgaria and the French Cultural Institute for an international relay 500 days before the start of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris in 2024.

400 students and young people took part in the event. Mayor Yordanka Fandakova wished that many Bulgarian athletes would return with medals from the Olympics.

We hope that Paris will be an excellent host and we will see the best achievements from all over the world during the Summer Olympic Games, Minister of Sport Vesela Lecheva said. The Bulgarian Olympic Committee marks its 100th anniversary this year, which is a reason for great pride, Lecheva added.
