The National Academy of Music marks the 124th anniversary since the birth of Professor Pancho Vladigerov

On March 13, 2023, Bulgaria marks the 124th anniversary since the birth of the renowned Bulgarian composer, conductor, pedagogue and public figure Professor Pancho Vladigerov (13.03.1899-08.09.1978). The author of the popular Bulgarian rhapsody "Vardar" is the patron of the National Academy of Music –Sofia. The academy was established in 1921 by a decree of Tsar Boris III.

Today, the National Academy of Music will celebrate the anniversary of the birth of the celebrated musician with a gala concert featuring his works. Proffessor Sava Dimitrov, Rector of the National Academy of Music, is to make an address at the academy’s concert hall at 1.30 p.m. Proffessor Snezhina Vrangova, who lectured at the National Academy of Music for 40 years, will deliver a speech in honor of Professor Pancho Vladigerov. During the event, the Bulgarian National Radio and the National Academy of Music are to celebrate their friendship by signing a Partnership Agreement. The two institutions will be represented by Milen Mitev - Director General of the Bulgarian National Radio and Professor Sava Dimitrov - Rector of the National Academy of Music.
