A Coordination Centre for the fight against trafficking in human beings will be established in Bulgaria with the participation of representatives of all EU member states and under the leadership of Europol. This was announced by Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev after the Justice and Home Affairs Council met in Brussels, BNR correspondent Angelina Piskova reports.

Mr Demerdzhiev noted that Turkey was also expected to join the working group. "The idea is to have a very quick reaction and operations to be done on the territory of multiple countries, just like how these criminal groups operate," the minister said. Europol's executive director, Catherine De Bolle, has endorsed the project. A Europol expert is due to visit Bulgaria next week to further develop the concept.
