Official welcoming ceremony for military contingent returning from Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Bulgarian contingent which took part in operation Althea, the EU’s military operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has been welcomed home with an official ceremony in Vazrazhdane square in Pleven, in front of the St. George the Victorious chapel. 

“The reports we have been getting is that the latest Bulgarian contingent has performed well. Welcome home,” land forces commander Major-General Deyan Deshkov said, addressing the contingent.

Within the EUFOR multinational battalion, the Bulgarian contingent was responsible for security at Camp Butmir, and mechanized and foot patrol duty on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The event ended with an award ceremony.
