Greek authorities have agreed to extradite to Bulgaria former border policeman Valentin Hristov, wanted for involvement in a criminal group trafficking illegal migrants. The group is being investigated for a recent tragedy in which 18 Afghani migrants died after suffocating in an abandoned truck near the Sofia village of Lokorsko, while 34 others were found in a serious condition.

According to prosecutors, Valentin Hristov was the criminal group's contact with the Border Police. He gave information on where migrants could jump the fence at our border and which checkpoint officials would not cause problems if they were spotted.
