Caretaker Minister of Culture Nayden Todorov told BNR that he had no grounds to remove the director of the National Theater Vasil Vasilev.

A few days ago, Vasilev dismissed the iconic theatre director Alexander Morfov, who had entered into a conflict with the theater's publicist Velislava Krasteva due to her affiliation with the MRF party.
Protests followed in support of both Morfov and Vasilev.

Today, the minister called the demand of the actors behind Morfov that the director be punished as "a desire for lynching". He also said that he would work to bring Vasilev and Morfov together and to heal the wound.

For his part, in an interview with bTV, Alexander Morfov stated that what is happening in the National Theater is a mini copy of the situation in the country. "A self-proclaimed dictator who rules with all the nomenclatures and bureaucratic tricks, humiliates people, dismisses those he doesn't need, appoints others," commented Morfov.
