Comprehensive inspections of the national road network will take place for one more month, engineer Ventsislav Angelov, chairman of the Road Infrastructure Agency stated.

The inspections include different indicators, among them the thickness of the asphalt surface.

The inspection of Sofia’s northern speed tangent conducted during the outgoing week, for example, revealed that around one-third of the necessary asphalt was missing. The inspections of Bulgaria’s motorways have shown they have a shorter useful life because some of the material is missing and they are in need of repairs. Moreover, their warranty has expired.
