The traditional kukeri festival called Pesponedelnik is making a comeback in Shiroka Luka after a two-year pause because of the coronavirus pandemic.
During the festival, 6 groups from different folklore regions of the country will reenact a ritual for banishing evil to the sound of the traditional kukeri bells. After making the rounds of all homes, they go to the village square to present various rituals – wedding, birth, ploughing and sowing rituals.
